Electronic Art Integrates Newest IBM AnyPlace Kiosk

Company to debut new “smaller footprint” EasyShip Kiosk at KioskCom in New York, October 23-24

CINCINNATI— Electronic Art (www.electronicart.com), a full-service interactive agency that specializes in computer kiosks and high-end kiosk software development, has integrated IBM’s newest AnyPlace Kiosk with a custom-fitted EasyShip kiosk stand to allow for ease of shipping, handling, and placement. The EasyShip has modular components that allow it to be shipped via common carrier and then easily assembled and set up onsite. And at just 17 inches wide, the new oval-shaped base fits into smaller, tighter spaces, which is ideal for retailers who have limited space in which to advertise and market to their customers.

Electronic Art (EA) has been working closely with IBM, who supplied EA with an early-release model of IBM’s new AnyPlace Kiosk, which only a few select business partners were given. EA then tailored their kiosk enclosure and current software projects to the IBM AnyPlace kiosk.  Beginning Friday, the IBM AnyPlace Kiosk will be available for ordering in select configurations.

The AnyPlace Kiosk’s small form factor and rugged design, which now include dual-core processors and a larger 19-inch screen, coupled with custom interactive applications designed by EA, enables companies to carry out long-term campaigns in the harshest of indoor and outdoor environments.

The new IBM kiosk includes additional USB ports, audio ports, faster dual core processors and RAM capabilities. “We have had several projects where having these additional ports would have helped,” said Tim Burke, Electronic Art’s CEO. “IBM treated us like a true partner in this process. Their engineers called and listened to our ideas for improvements and have incorporated those into the new lineup of hardware, which helps us deliver a better product for our Kiosk customers.”

Electronic Art will be showing the IBM AnyPlace Kiosk on their EasyShip stand at KioskCom on October 23 and 24 in New York City. The AnyPlace Kiosk at IBM’s KioskCom booth will also feature EA’s new EasyAdmit patient self check-in application, featured recently on IBM television promotions.
