We’re still alive.

In Switzerland this morning a team of Scientists tested a massive particle accelerator called the Large Hadron Collider successfully. Protons were sent through the 17 mile loop for the first time after taking 14 years and 8 billion dollars to complete building the accelerator. There was speculation by some in the blogosphere that the LHC could create black holes that would devour the planet. That doesn’t appear to be the case. In the coming weeks particles will be sent in both directions to collide that will shed light on questions that have puzzled Physicists for decades.
